Bitcoin Hyper Boosts as Texas Is First US State to Buy Bitcoin

Bitcoin Hyper Boosts as Texas Is First US State to Buy Bitcoin

The post Bitcoin Hyper Boosts as Texas Is First US State to Buy Bitcoin appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. What to Know: Texas buying bitcoin via an ETF signals growing state-level comfort with regulated BTC exposure, but it primarily benefits long-term, low-beta allocators. As institutions choose ETFs, crypto-native investors may look one layer deeper, into Bitcoin Layer 2 infrastructure, for higher potential upside. Bitcoin still struggles with low throughput, variable fees, and limited programmability, keeping most complex DeFi and gaming activity on alternative smart contract chains. Bitcoin Hyper aims to solve this by bringing SVM-based, high-throughput smart contracts to a Bitcoin-secured Layer 2, targeting payments, DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. Texas just became the first US state to buy bitcoin, doing it not through a cold wallet but via BlackRock’s spot $BTC ETF. For institutions and treasuries, that’s a historic green light: clean regulatory rails, audited custody, and Bitcoin exposure that fits neatly into a traditional portfolio. For you as a retail investor, though, ETFs cap the upside. You get price tracking, not yield, leverage, or early-stage asymmetry. When a sovereign-scale buyer like Texas enters through an ETF, it reinforces Bitcoin as a macro asset, but it also pushes smaller investors to ask where the next outsized growth might actually come from. That’s why early-stage Bitcoin infrastructure plays are suddenly back in focus. Instead of just holding ‘paper BTC’ via an ETF, some are rotating into projects trying to fix Bitcoin’s biggest pain points: slow confirmation times, rising on-chain fees, and a scripting model that makes complex DeFi almost impossible. That’s the gap Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER) is aiming to fill. As more headlines frame Texas’s move as the start of state-level Bitcoin adoption and another win for institutional adoption, a parallel conversation is happening in crypto-native circles. If institutions are content with ETF exposure, can agile investors position one layer closer to the innovation stack, into Bitcoin Layer 2s like…

DeFi yield aggregator Yearn discloses September incident in yUSND vault

DeFi yield aggregator Yearn discloses September incident in yUSND vault

The post DeFi yield aggregator Yearn discloses September incident in yUSND vault appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Yearn, a DeFi stalwart offering set-and-forget yield vaults, has announced an incident involving its yUSND vault on the Arbitrum network. The disclosure comes from pseudonymous Yearn contributor johnnyonline who explains that “insufficient USND liquidity” led to “severe slippage” in swapping liquidation rewards, one of the strategy’s yield sources. The incident was confined to the vault’s rETH Stability Pool Strategy, to which 28% of its assets are allocated. Losses were relatively small, especially by DeFi’s standards, at just over $25,000 in USND. This represents a “5.2% drawdown for yUSND depositors.” The post reassures users that Yearn has fully covered losses to protect user principal, and that “only the vault’s realized yield potential was impacted.” Despite the team disclosing the incident on November 26, it occurred on September 28, with losses covered on October 11. Going forward, similar strategies will offload collateral in “smaller tranches” to reduce the risk of slippage-related losses. An additional “price-guard mechanism” is also in place to act as a circuit breaker. Read more: High yields to haircuts: Has DeFi learned anything from yield vault collapse? The DeFi risk landscape Launched in 2020 as iearn Finance, “DeFi’s Yield Aggregator” hit a peak of $6.9 billion total-value locked (TVL) in late 2021. It currently holds $343 million, according to DeFiLlama data. DeFi is often thought of as a wild-west corner of the already risky wider crypto sector. But many users consider certain long-standing, battle-tested protocols as “blue-chips,” or a safe pairs of hands: Aave for lending, Lido for liquid staking, Yearn for yield. This distinction became clear during the recent spectacular collapse of degen yield vaults such as Stream Finance. Pseudonymous Yearn contributor Schlagonia was among those who raised the alarm over Stream’s xUSD and Elixir’s deUSD “recursively minting” each other’s assets. They called the system a “daisy chain”…

Solana Dips 2.1%, Digitap ($TAP) Hits $2M: Which is the Better Black Friday Buy?

Solana Dips 2.1%, Digitap ($TAP) Hits $2M: Which is the Better Black Friday Buy?

The post Solana Dips 2.1%, Digitap ($TAP) Hits $2M: Which is the Better Black Friday Buy? appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Solana (SOL) no longer ranks among the five largest cryptos by market cap after falling more than 30% over the past month. Another 2.1% decline continues to frustrate investors as the token is now much closer to $100 than $200. Given the continued weakness in Solana, it is no surprise that many investors aren’t attracted to this Black Friday discount. There are plenty of reasons to stop considering SOL one of the best cryptos to buy now. But not all cryptos deserve to be shunned. Digitap ($TAP), a crypto presale project and creator of the world’s first “omni-bank,” is demonstrating its ability to sustain momentum during a broader market selloff. Digitap’s presale event recently crossed the $2 million raised milestone and continues to attract steady interest even as the wider market dips. Essentially, Digitap is considered a top altcoin to buy because it offers something Solana can’t: stability during a rough time. To reward backers who recognize this narrative, the project is rolling out a Black Friday presale widget that runs a 96-hour event with no offers appearing every hour. Why Digitap’s Utility Fits Best Crypto To Buy Now Lists Digitap is positioning itself as a fintech “omni-bank,” unifying crypto and traditional finance on a single, easy-to-use platform. The superbank app is already live on iOS and Android devices and lets users worldwide send, receive, store, save, invest, and spend multiple fiat currencies through offshore IBAN accounts and transact with more than 100 cryptocurrencies. Digitap’s recent partnership with Visa brings the globally recognized payment card’s name to its debit card. Users can preload their Visa-branded Digitap card with either fiat or crypto and spend anywhere Visa cards are accepted. But the real killer product that sets Digitap apart as one of the best crypto to buy now is its ability…
