PETALING JAYA: S Sivasangari has become the first Malaysian woman to reach the final of the PSA Squash Tour Finals 2025-2026 since Nicol David in 2012.
She booked her spot in the final after defeating top seed Amina Orfi of Egypt, 8-11, 11-10, 11-8, 11-10, in a gripping semi-final clash lasting 74 minutes in Paris yesterday evening, Bernama reported.
Sivasangari, who is seeded fourth, will meet second seed Hania El Hammamy of Egypt in the final today.
Head-to-head statistics favour Hania, with Sivasangari having won only two of their previous 10 meetings.
Those two victories came at the Women’s Squash Championships in 2017 and the London Squash Classic in 2024.
The world No 5, who hails from Kedah, also has a chance to add one more title this year after having won the 2026 Grasshopper Cup champion in Zurich, Switzerland, in April.
