The construction equipment leader delivered earnings of $5.54 per share, exceeding Wall Street’s consensus forecast of $4.65 by $0.89. Top-line revenue reached $17.42 billion, surpassing projections of $16.53 billion and representing a 22.2% increase compared to the year-ago period.

By comparison, CAT generated $4.25 in earnings per share during the first quarter of the previous year. Wall Street analysts currently project full-year earnings per share of $24.62.
