An air crew was suspended after conducting a flyby with military helicopters over Kid Rock’s house in Nashville, Tennessee, over the weekend, NBC reported Tuesday citing an unnamed U.S. official, shortly after the military announced it would investigate the flights.
Kid Rock posted videos of two AH 64 Apache helicopters flying over his Tennessee home last weekend.

Key Facts
The U.S. Army has not officially commented on the reported suspension, and both the Army and the 101st Airborne Division did not immediately return requests for comment from Forbes.
An Army spokesperson previously confirmed the Army was investigating to verify if the flyover was in “compliance with regulations and airspace requirements,” and said it would take “appropriate action” if not.
Two aircraft from the 101st Airborne Division were involved in the flyover, a spokesperson for the unit told multiple outlets on Monday.
Kid Rock, whose legal name is Robert Ritchie, brushed off concerns about the investigation when questioned by Nashville local station WKRN on Monday, saying “I think they’re gonna be alright, my buddy’s the commander-in-chief.”
Crucial Quote
Speaking with WKRN, Ritchie said he had seen military helicopters fly near his home in the past, which he said is close to Kentucky’s Fort Campbell—the military base that houses the 101st Airborne Division. “I was there last Thanksgiving with JD Vance, and I’ve talked to some of these pilots, and I told them, ‘You guys see me waving when you come by the house, you guys are always welcome to cruise by my house like any time,’” the singer told the station. He later questioned what the Army was supposed to be investigating about the weekend flyby. “I mean, what are they looking into? They stopped for, I don’t know, seconds? A minute? Maybe they were here three, four minutes, just to say ‘what’s up,’ and went on.”
Key Background
Ritchie posted two short videos of the helicopters to his social media feeds on Saturday. The videos show the “Bawitdaba” singer saluting and cheering for the pilots, while one hovers near his scenic Nashville home and the other flies slowly overhead.
