The U.S. Army opened an investigation into AH-64 Apache attack helicopters operating near Kid Rock's residence near Nashville, Tennessee, after the singer posted video of himself saluting the aircraft over his "Southern White House."

The 101st Airborne Division spokesperson Maj. Jonathon Bless confirmed Fort Campbell leadership is reviewing the circumstances of the activity, stating the division maintains strict standards for aviation safety and flight regulations. The same helicopters were also spotted flying over a "No Kings" protest in downtown Nashville, though Bless could not explain the demonstration overflight.

Kid Rock posted that the helicopter visit represented respect. Occupy Democrats criticized the incident on Facebook, questioning why taxpayers funded military helicopters for what they called a "photoshoot" at the singer's private residence.
