Why are $1.7B Outflows Killing Altcoins? While Digitap ($TAP) is up 263% as the Best Crypto to Buy

Altcoins have been crushed this cycle, and now $1.7 billion in outflows from crypto products is putting even more pressure on an asset class that was already drowning. Institutional money is pulling capital from crypto ETPs, rate-cut optimism is fading, and digital assets look pathetic compared to traditional commodities such as Gold and Silver.

But even in this type of market, there is always a bull run somewhere. Teams are still building real products, and investors who participate in crypto presales can get ground-floor access to projects that could become 2026’s blue chips.

Digitap ($TAP) is part of this group. While altcoins get destroyed by the market, $TAP is already up 263%, and this fintech-esque project has already raised more than $4.5 million. Here’s why $TAP could be the best crypto to buy now as markets shift away from overvalued legacy altcoins—and toward the next cohort of banking products.

The clearest explanation for why altcoins are struggling is simple. Liquidity is leaving the room. Last week alone, there was a $1.73 billion outflow from crypto exchange-traded products. The largest outflow since mid-November 2025.

ETF flows show how interested institutions are in crypto, and when ETP flows flip negative, it means institutions are not buyers, but sellers. But why are institutions ditching crypto exposure now? Expectations for interest rate cuts are dwindling, price momentum is clearly negative, and cryptocurrencies’ performance has been overshadowed by traditional commodities.

All of this is a toxic combination for altcoins. Even as BTC declined, BTC dominance has steadily increased throughout the cycle. BTC has destroyed alts, and even when BTC falls, it still loses less value than alts. But what is killing legacy altcoins? Token design.

The vast majority of the leading altcoins to buy in 2021 have no value accrual, bloated valuations, and only thrived because of the Covid stimulus and huge amount of money printing. Now, the market is much more selective, and investors need to look for projects built like real businesses that deliver real products.

Why Digitap ($TAP) is up 263%

Digitap is a great example of a crypto presale that is thriving because of its early-stage product momentum. This is omni-banking platform is built like a fintech, available for download now, and it is making banking instant, mobile, and borderless today.

Omni-banking delivers a single interface where crypto and fiat work together, and the most recent network integration was Solana. Deposits are not live on Solana, and Digitap has plugged in arguably crypto’s fastest layer one blockchain into its banking app.

The big design breakthrough is multi-rail settlement. Digitap can send transfers on traditional banking rails or blockchains, depending on which is faster. It does not rely on any single payment rail; Digitap routes across all of them. It is like an aggregator for payments, all contained within a single app.

Digitap’s Visa card has seen strong adoption out of the gate, and it turns all on-chain assets into real-world purchasing power. The AI engine finds the best possible swap price at the point of sale. Digitap is aggressively leveraging stablecoins and is one of the first apps to bring digital dollars to regular people through a familiar interface.

Why is $TAP up 263%? The market obviously believes in its value proposition, and with the prize set as global finance, the upside potential is much larger than that of a typical altcoin. This crypto presale has continued shipping and clearly investors like what they see with more than $4.5 million already raised.

Why $TAP Could be the Leading Banking Trade of the Year

$TAP is available for just $0.0454 today, jumping to $0.0467 in less than a week. It has a confirmed listing price of $0.14, meaning 3X potential upside by launch for today’s buyers, and crypto presale pricing for a live app attempting to disrupt global finance is clearly attractive.

Unlike legacy altcoins, $TAP has a strong foundation. Digitap’s token flywheel should lead to an appreciating price thanks to token scarcity. Dedicating 50% of platform profits to burning $TAP and rewarding stakers means that as platform activity grows, the token will also grow.

Currently, presale participants can earn 124% staking their $TAP and look forwad to the coming price increase. As altcoins get crushed, $TAP is defying the trend and could be the best crypto to buy now for the banking trade this year. As stablecoin supply skyrockets, Digitap could be the app that makes digital dollars accessible to the next cohort of users.

DOJE, on the other hand, is the first-ever Dogecoin ETF. It offers investors regulated access to the first memecoin that built global recognition through its Shiba Inu mascot and active online community. Both funds use a structure under the Investment Company Act of 1940, which governs open-end mutual funds and ETFs in the US. This law was designed to protect investors from fraud, conflicts of interest, and poor oversight. This route gives investors the protections of a regulated open-end ETF. Each fund will hold a majority of its assets in spot XRP or DOGE, while also investing at least 40% in other crypto ETFs and ETPs, including those traded outside the United States. According to the SEC filing, XRPR charges an expense ratio of 0.75%, while DOJE charges 1.50%. The funds may also use a Cayman Islands subsidiary to buy crypto directly. This setup copies REX-Osprey’s Solana + Staking ETF (SSK), which launched in July and quickly grew past $275 million in assets.
