CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur — The South Koreans are showing their relegation from the women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) last year would be short-lived.

It was evident in South Korea’s first three matches in the AVC Volleyball Cup where it won via straight sets over Kyrgyzstan on Saturday, Uzbekistan on Sunday and host Alas Pilipinas on Tuesday.

They’re so impressive that they’re the only team in this 12-nation, nine-day tournament that has yet conceded a single set.

And it was because of its resolve to reclaim the spot it lost in the VNL following its relegation a year ago. — JSV
