Key Highlights

  • Spot DCA: An automated investment strategy that purchases cryptocurrency at regular intervals with fixed amounts, effectively spreading entry points and minimizing the risk of buying at market peaks.
  • Ideal For: Long-term investors in mainstream cryptocurrencies like BTC or ETH who prefer a hands-off approach.
  • Key Benefit: Fully automated execution that eliminates emotional decision-making.
  • Simple Setup: Configure your cryptocurrency, investment amount, and frequency, while the system handles the rest.
  • Notice: DCA does not eliminate market volatility risks; losses may occur during price downturns.

1. What Is MEXC Spot DCA?

Spot DCA is a systematic investment strategy that automatically purchases your chosen cryptocurrencies at predetermined intervals and amounts within your specified price range.

Example: Configure weekly BTC purchases of 100 USDT. The system executes purchases on schedule regardless of price movements, averaging your cost basis, acquiring fewer units during price peaks and more during dips.

This strategy eliminates the need for constant market monitoring or price prediction, while preventing impulsive decisions driven by fear or greed. For investors seeking long-term exposure to mainstream assets like BTC and ETH, DCA offers a straightforward, low-maintenance investment solution.

2. How to Use MEXC Spot DCA

2.1 Setting Up Your DCA Plan

Step 1: Navigate to Spot DCA

Log in to the MEXC website, hover over Spot in the navigation bar, and select Spot DCA from the drop down menu.

Step 2: Initiate Plan Creation

On the Spot DCA page, click Create DCA Bot. Alternatively, browse Featured Strategies or DCA Plans, select your preferred cryptocurrency, and click Create DCA Bot for quick setup.

Step 3: Configure Your Parameters

Configure the following on the creation page: Choose your DCA Tokens(e.g., BTC, ETH), define the DCA Interval, and specify the Amount Per Round. For enhanced control, access Advanced Settings to set a Buy Price Range, ensuring purchases execute only within your target price zone. Once configured, click Create Plan.

Step 4: Review and Activate

Review your DCA plan details carefully. Once verified, click Confirm to activate your plan.

2.2 Managing Your DCA Orders

From the Spot DCA page, click My DCA Bots to access the Spot trading interface.

In the order section at the bottom of the Spot trading page, navigate to Plan, then Spot DCA to view all active DCA orders. Here you can pause, terminate, or restart your plans.

Click View Details to access comprehensive plan information.

The DCA details page displays comprehensive DCA bot order information, including PNL tracking, asset allocation, trading history, and more.

3. Important Considerations for MEXC Spot DCA

Please note the following when using Spot DCA:

Asset Selection: Each DCA plan supports up to 10 cryptocurrencies simultaneously. Assign custom investment allocations for each asset, ensuring the total equals 100%. For convenience, click Equal Allocation for automatic equal allocation. When equal division isn't possible, the system assigns remaining percentages to the first assets in sequence.

Execution Timing: For daily, weekly, or monthly DCA plans, the system defaults to Start First Investment, executing the initial purchase upon plan creation before continuing on the scheduled cycle.

Time Zone Configuration: The system supports time zone customization. After adjustment, DCA executes according to the selected time zone. The default time zone matches your account settings, with execution defaulting to the current hour.

4. MEXC Spot DCA FAQ

4.1 Which trading pairs work best for Spot DCA?

We recommend focusing on mainstream cryptocurrencies with high liquidity and active trading volumes. Most users begin with pairs like BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT, which offer relative price stability and strong market depth.

4.2 What do DCA plan statuses mean?

Your DCA plan may display the following statuses:
Success: The DCA plan has been executed successfully.
Failed: The DCA plan execution failed due to insufficient balance or other issues.
Partial Success: Some DCA orders were executed successfully, while others failed.
In Progress: The DCA plan is currently running and pending execution resul
Pending: The DCA plan has been created and is waiting for the scheduled execution.

4.3 What happens if my Spot account balance is insufficient?

If your selected account does not have enough balance to cover the cost of the DCA purchase, the transaction will fail. The system will attempt to execute the purchase in the next DCA round. If it fails consecutively for a certain number of rounds, the DCA plan will be canceled. Ensure adequate USDT balance in your account at all times.

4.4 How many DCA plans can I run at the same time?

You can run up to multiple Spot DCA plans at once. This includes plans you create yourself and plans you copy from others, whether active plans or paused under the DCA Plans tab.

4.5 What are the risks of DCA plans?

DCA plans themselves carry no inherent risk, as they simply automate your future crypto purchases. However, cryptocurrency investments are subject to market volatility and may result in losses. Always do your own research and fully understand the risks before investing.
