According to Odaily, Robinhood Chain’s total value locked increased by more than 45% in August to over $540 million. Tokenized real-world assets on the network reached $32 million, representing 120% month-over-month growth, but their share of TVL declined from nearly one-third on July 7 to 6%. The network’s stablecoin market capitalization rose by more than 22% during the month to $640 million. USDe grew nearly 50% to $286 million, accounting for 44% of the total, while native stablecoin USDG remained between $330 million and $350 million.
According to
Bitcoin.com News, the Bank of Russia has published draft regulations proposing that exchange-approved crypto assets held by professional market participants be capped at 25% of their total equity value. The assets must also be registered with a crypto custodian to facilitate verification and assessments of credit and market risk. Russia has approved a cryptocurrency regulatory framework under which non-qualified investors may purchase no more than 300,000 rubles, approximately $3,800, annually. Crypto remains prohibited for domestic payments, although importers and exporters may use it for cross-border settlements without the same restrictions.
According to Cointelegraph, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has conditionally approved World Liberty Financial’s application for a national trust bank charter. Once the conditions are satisfied, the company may operate as World Liberty Trust Company, National Association, issuing a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin and safeguarding digital assets associated with USD1. A Trump family entity owns a 38% stake in the company. Senator Elizabeth Warren and nine other senators subsequently introduced the Stop Presidential Banking Corruption Act, questioning whether the approval presents conflicts of interest.
According to Odaily, DeFi lending credit delegation protocol twyne has raised $2.5 million in a seed funding round co-led by cyber Fund and Ethereal Ventures, with participation from Euler, Daedalus and several individual investors. The protocol is building a credit delegation layer that enables borrowing capacity originally tied to collateral depositors to be delegated to parties with actual borrowing demand. The model aims to improve the utilization of collateral and available credit while optimizing credit distribution and capital allocation across DeFi lending markets.
According to CoinDesk, Compound Finance has completed a leadership restructuring and approved a record $52 million budget as it seeks to restore growth by serving institutional clients. The protocol’s total value locked has declined from a 2021 peak of $12 billion to $1.2 billion. Its new strategy will prioritize real-world asset products, partner integrations and credit infrastructure designed to meet the compliance and technology requirements of traditional financial institutions. The shift reflects a broader trend across DeFi toward deeper integration with institutional capital and traditional finance.
According to CNBC, the Cboe Volatility Index fell to 14.2 last Friday, its lowest level of 2026, even as geopolitical conflict, weaker consumer conditions and seasonal factors continue to threaten greater equity-market volatility. Wall Street typically views the period from mid-August to mid-October as a historically turbulent window. BTIG data show that in every U.S. midterm election year since 1990, the equal-weighted S&P 500 has experienced a decline of at least 7% between its average August 18 peak and mid-October, suggesting that the current low-volatility environment may be underpricing risk.
According to the Hyperliquid Policy Center, the organization and Douro Labs have submitted a joint comment letter to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission supporting the repeal of Regulation NMS Rule 611, known as the Trade-Through Rule. They argue that the existing framework relies on traditional quotation systems that do not adequately accommodate always-on blockchain markets, network fees or maximum extractable value. The groups also recommend clear best-execution guidance for on-chain trading and recognition of transparent, manipulation-resistant independent price references when the NBBO cannot cover blockchain markets.
According to Trade.xyz data, Unitree’s pre-IPO perpetual futures contract reached an all-time high of $106 in the early hours of August 18 and was most recently quoted at $103.65. The contract recorded approximately $12.25 million in 24-hour trading volume and about $22.03 million in open interest. The simultaneous increase in price and positioning indicates growing market attention toward Unitree’s potential IPO valuation and the humanoid robotics sector. However, pre-IPO contracts remain exposed to limited price discovery, changing liquidity and uncertainty surrounding the company’s eventual valuation.
According to an official announcement from shturl.c, the platform reduced its Solana on-chain trading fee to 0% and set its cross-chain trading fee at 0.1% beginning August 18. The new fee structure applies only within the shturl.c application. The adjustment may lower the direct cost of trading and cross-chain activity in the Solana ecosystem while potentially increasing platform usage and trading activity. Users should still verify blockchain gas costs, selected cross-chain routes and the final amount received before completing transactions.

According to Trezor’s official announcement, unauthorized access to a shipping provider’s systems exposed the names, addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses of nearly 14,000 customers to varying degrees. The incident does not indicate that hardware wallet private keys were compromised, but the leaked contact information could be used for targeted phishing, fake customer support, fraudulent firmware updates or physical threats. Users should remain cautious of emails, text messages and calls requesting wallet verification or security upgrades. Obtain updates only through Trezor’s official website, avoid scanning unfamiliar QR codes, never enter a seed phrase on an unverified page and do not disclose private keys or device PINs.
