According to Fortune, prediction market trading infrastructure startup River Markets has raised $8.5 million in a seed round led by Haun Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, Coinbase Ventures, Qube Research Technologies, and other investors. The funding will be used to expand its engineering team, improve trading system speed and security, and develop tools for large-scale fund management and cross-platform trading. As institutions increasingly use prediction markets to hedge real-world economic variables such as carbon emission allowances and GPU rental prices, demand for the sector’s underlying trading infrastructure is accelerating.
According to Bloomberg, Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has launched a U.S. investment-grade bond offering to finance its approximately $6 billion acquisition of electronic bond trading platform MarketAxess. The issuance may include up to five tranches with maturities ranging from three to ten years. Initial pricing guidance for the longest-dated notes was approximately 1.15 percentage points above U.S. Treasury yields. Following the acquisition, MarketAxess’s institutional bond trading network is expected to complement ICE’s existing exchange, clearing, and data businesses, expanding its presence in fixed-income markets.
According to The Block, Nasdaq-listed trading and investment platform eToro has agreed to acquire U.S. online brokerage TradeZero for up to $231 million, with the transaction expected to close in the first half of 2027. TradeZero primarily serves active U.S. traders while also operating in Canada and other international markets. The acquisition will help eToro expand its U.S. retail customer base, strengthen its brokerage infrastructure, and accelerate the launch of products for active traders. Combined with its earlier acquisition of self-custodial wallet provider Zengo, eToro is advancing the integration of equities, crypto assets, and multi-asset investment services.
According to The Information, AI infrastructure startup Trajectory has raised $40 million at a post-money valuation of $300 million, with participation from Sequoia Capital. The funding round and other investors were not disclosed. Founded by former Google and Apple researchers, the company helps enterprises customize open-source AI models and optimize the “agent harness” toolchain used by AI agents to execute tasks. As the cost of closed-source models rises and enterprises demand greater agent reliability, model adaptation, tool use, and task execution frameworks are becoming key areas of AI infrastructure investment.
According to CoinDesk, Itaú, Latin America’s largest bank by assets, is working with OpenAssets on industry-led tests involving tokenized fixed-income products and investment funds. Brazil has continued exploring the use of blockchain for bonds, credit, and other traditional financial assets within a regulated framework, aiming to improve issuance, registration, settlement, and transfer efficiency. Itaú’s participation indicates that major commercial banks are moving from proof-of-concept initiatives toward concrete product testing, while tokenization increasingly expands into core institutional asset classes such as fixed income and investment funds.
According to HyperliquidNews, Hyperliquid recorded an average of 96,030 daily active users over the past week, marking a new all-time high. The increase reflects sustained demand for on-chain trading and suggests that decentralized perpetual futures platforms are attracting a broader group of traders. Compared with single-day trading volume, weekly daily active user data provide a clearer indication of user retention and usage frequency. As on-chain derivatives improve in execution efficiency, product coverage, and liquidity, active user figures will remain an important measure of platform growth quality and network effects.
According to Bitcoin News, the selection process for BIP-110’s new proof-of-work algorithm has encountered controversy. Luke Dashjr initially proposed using the final character of the first Testnet4 block hash produced after 14:00 UTC to determine the algorithm. Peter Todd argued that Testnet4 mining costs were low enough for participants to repeatedly calculate hashes and manipulate the outcome. Multiple competing blocks subsequently appeared at the same height, prompting Dashjr to acknowledge that Testnet4 was unsuitable and consider using a valid Bitcoin block instead. The episode highlights coordination challenges involving fairness, verifiability, and manipulation resistance in fork algorithm selection.
According to The Block, Tether-backed Bitcoin treasury company Twenty One Capital reported a net loss of $413.5 million for the second quarter of 2026, including approximately $401.5 million attributable to a decline in the carrying value of its Bitcoin holdings. Newly appointed CEO Raphael Zagury said the company cannot remain solely a Bitcoin treasury business and intends to expand through acquisitions, use capital market instruments to strengthen its financing capacity, and explore Bitcoin-backed lending. The results show that companies centered on BTC reserves remain highly exposed to cryptocurrency market volatility.
According to an official ENS announcement, ENS DAO has approved and executed the “Next Era of ENS DAO” proposal, formally establishing the ENS Foundation. The foundation will have a full-time executive director, a professional team, and a five-member board responsible for legal affairs, policy, standards development, and brand protection. Its responsibilities will include representing ENS in organizations such as ICANN, IETF, and W3C, advancing recognition of the “.ens” top-level domain, protecting trademarks and intellectual property, and serving as a formal counterparty for traditional institutions. The structure addresses the DAO’s previous limitations in signing agreements, hiring personnel, and participating in regulatory discussions.
According to an official SEC announcement, Chair Paul S. Atkins plans to comprehensively reform the Consolidated Audit Trail, including its governance, funding, and operating model. The SEC will examine potential funding through congressional appropriations and Section 31 transaction fees under the Securities Exchange Act. It will also consider rescinding Rule 613 while requiring exchanges, FINRA, and broker-dealers to continue using the existing CAT infrastructure and reporting standards to submit data directly to the SEC or a designated entity. The agency will assess the internal resources required to assume governance responsibilities, with the broader reform and transition potentially continuing through the end of 2027.

Crypto holders should remain alert to the recent rise in physical coercion and privacy exposure risks. According to recent Chainalysis security research, attackers may use leaked identities, home addresses, or asset information to identify high-value wallet holders before using home invasions, kidnapping, or coercion to force victims to unlock devices and transfer assets. Users should avoid publicly sharing portfolio values, wallet screenshots, residential addresses, or travel plans. Large holdings should be protected through multisignature arrangements, time locks, distributed storage, and separate backup wallets, rather than allowing a single phone or seed phrase to control all assets. Anyone who discovers that personal information has been exposed, believes they are being followed, or receives a physical threat should avoid handling the situation alone and immediately contact local law enforcement.
