Lynyrd Skynyrd’s original run as a band began in the mid-’60s, and by the late ’70s, the group was already hugely popular, especially in the rock space. The outfit suffered a terrible tragedy when its chartered plane crashed, killing several members and injuring others, forcing the act to go on a years-long hiatus.

The rockers have not released a new album in more than a decade, and none of the original founding members are now included in its live lineup. Americans have never tired of the troupe’s decidedly Southern take on rock music, and as is almost always the case, Lynyrd Skynyrd appears on multiple Billboard charts with its All Time Greatest Hits compilation. That fixture on several albums rosters never disappears, thanks to relatively healthy sales, but also continued plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, which have impacted many of Billboard‘s most competitive rosters for years now. It’s that title that brings Lynyrd Skynyrd to a never-before-seen milestone on the most competitive albums tally in the country.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s All Time Greatest Hits Hits 350 Weeks

All Time Greatest Hits flies two spaces north on the Billboard 200, the roster that looks at the most-consumed albums and EPs in America. As it climbs, the Lynyrd Skynyrd release makes it to 350 weeks on the rundown.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Longest-Charting Albums

All Time Greatest Hits is the first album by Lynyrd Skynyrd to spend 350 weeks on the Billboard 200, and it is easily the band’s longest-charting success. Only one other project, another compilation titled The Best of Lynyrd Skynyrd: 20th Century Masters – The Millennium Collection, has held on for triple-digit frames. That set, which launched in the summer of 1999, has racked up 135 turns on the roster, although All Time Greatest Hits has taken over and pushed that collection off the chart. The Best of Lynyrd Skynyrd required more than a decade before climbing to its high of No. 60 in the spring of 2011.

All Time Greatest Hits Was Not a High-Rising Win

While All Time Greatest Hits may be Lynyrd Skynyrd’s longest-charting album – it beats The Best of Lynyrd Skynyrd several times over – it is not one of the group’s highest-rising wins. The compilation peaked at No. 45 in the summer of 2025, more than 12 years after it debuted. That places the project somewhere in the middle of the band’s 27 total appearances on the roster.

That roundup of charting efforts includes just three top 10s and not a single leader. Lynyrd Skynyrd soared to its all-time high of No. 5 in December 1977, a month after Street Survivors debuted. Both One More for the Road and Nuthin’ Fancy, which preceded Street Survivors by a year, stalled at No. 9.

All Time Greatest Hits Climbs on Multiple Charts This Week

At the moment, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s All Time Greatest Hits takes up space on just two Billboard lists, and it rises on both of them. In addition to the Billboard 200, the compilation can be found on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, where it pushes from No. 38 to No. 35. The project has held on even longer on the genre-specific tally, where it’s up to 362 turns. That is more than nine times as long as the group’s eight other charting albums combined.

Only one other release by the rockers – yet another compilation titled Icon: Lynyrd Skynyrd – managed to hang on for double-digit periods. It counts just 11 stays to its credit.
