Republican claims GOP leaders ignored him years ago about colleague's sex scandal

Rep. Dan Crenshaw claimed this week that he warned Republican leadership years ago about his embattled Florida colleague Rep. Cory Mills, including about alleged encounters with sex workers during a 2021 Afghanistan evacuation trip, according to a new report.

"I was telling leadership about Cory Mills. I knew all that crap about his run-in with a bunch of Georgia prostitutes that must have snuck into his bedroom and made him have sex with them. I'm sure that's right,” Crenshaw told the Hill Spill's Juliegrace Brufke, dripping with sarcasm. “It could have been an accident, but yeah, now it's all out in the open."

The Florida Republican was accused of soliciting sex workers and endangering others on the chaotic Afghanistan trip. A new photograph published by Hill Spill purported to show Mills getting physically close with a woman who is not his then-wife, whose divorce was finalized in recent weeks.

Mills vehemently denied that the woman was a sex worker and said the photo was taken at a hotel bar with more than a dozen people present.

"I absolutely deny that I engaged in any prostitution or inappropriate behavior of any kind other than drinking at the bar," he said.

It's far from Mills' only controversy. The congressman has faced domestic assault allegations, a cyberstalking restraining order, a revenge porn threat, failure to disclose a secret nonprofit created after the Afghanistan trip, and is currently under an active House Ethics probe.
