They Will Kill You, starring Zazie Beetz, Patricia Arquette, Tom Felton and Heather Graham, is coming soon to digital streaming.
Directed by Kirill Sokolov, They Will Kill You opened in theaters nationwide on March 27. In the film, Beetz (Atlanta, Deadpool 2) stars as Asia, a woman who takes a job at the mysterious Virgil hotel in a bid to reconnect with her long-lost sister, Maria (Myha’la).
When Asia is given the job and her boss, Lily (Arquette) deadbolts the door behind her, she discovers that she is to be sacrificed by the hotel’s devil-worshipping inhabitants — which unleashes a bloody battle if she is to survive the night.
Written by Sokolov and Alex Litvak, They Will Kill You also stars Paterson Joseph.
Rated R, They Will Kill You will be released on digital streaming on premium video on demand on Tuesday, April 28, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment announced on Monday. The film, which will be available on PVOD on a variety of digital platforms including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV, will be available to purchase for $24.99.
Since digital rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, They Will Kill You should be available to rent on PVOD for $19.99 for a 48-hour period.
How Was ‘They Will Kill You’ Received By Audiences And Critics?
They Will Kill You earned $10.7 million in North American ticket sales and $7.9 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $18.6 million. The film had a $20 million production budget before marketing costs, according to Deadline.
They Will Kill You earned a 65% “fresh” critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer, based on 159 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus reads, “A hyper-stylized battle royale with a vivid gothic setting, They Will Kill You‘s cyclical structure can grow repetitive but a fierce Zazie Beetz keeps the bloodletting infectiously fun.”
In addition, the film earned a 77% “fresh” score on RT’s Popcornmeter, based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings. RT’s Audience Summary reads, “Pop it hot and fresh, They Will Kill You is best enjoyed with a bucket of popcorn and a stomach for gory fun, delightfully served by its magnetic final girl, Zazie Beetz.”
