Samsung also declared a ₩30 trillion Q3 dividend and said its 2027 HBM supply is already sold out.

Seoul Economic Daily reported, after rising more than 6% with the KOSPI the day before.
On MEXC, the SAMSUNGUSDT perpetual contract was down 4.2% at 1:00 p.m. KST.

Why Did Samsung Stock Fall After Record Earnings?
The record had been known for three weeks, so the full report had to add something new, and investors found it light in places.
Device Solutions earned ₩106.5 trillion, below some estimates of nearly ₩110 trillion cited in Korean media.
The device businesses lost money, and Samsung told the call it expects some demand adjustment for mobile and PC products in 2027.
The broader market also turned: the KOSPI fell more than 2% in the morning after a 6% jump on October 28, when SK hynix reported.
Memory Prices and HBM4 Drove the Chip Profit
Samsung said strong server demand pushed up memory prices across all applications, while capacity constraints let it focus its product mix on AI.
On the earnings call, memory sales head Jaejune Kim gave the main numbers.
Prices: DRAM average selling prices rose about 20% from Q2, and NAND prices rose in the high teens.
Volumes: DRAM bit shipments grew by a low-to-mid single-digit percentage and NAND by a mid-single-digit percentage.
HBM4: sales more than tripled from Q2, reaching 60% of HBM sales, and Samsung's HBM market share reached parity with its overall DRAM share.
The pattern matches SK hynix a day earlier: its operating profit of ₩83.3 trillion on ₩104.6 trillion of revenue gave an 80% margin, as covered in our
SK hynix Q3 2026 earnings article.
Foundry earnings "improved significantly," Samsung said, helped by HBM base-die sales and 2nm order wins, although it did not disclose foundry or System LSI profit figures.
Phones, TVs and Displays
MX and Networks: revenue of ₩37.7 trillion and a ₩0.6 trillion operating loss.
Visual Display and Digital Appliances: revenue of ₩13.9 trillion and a ₩0.2 trillion loss.
Samsung Display: revenue of ₩8.0 trillion and operating profit of ₩1.1 trillion.
Harman: earnings improved, helped by one-off US tariff refunds.
The same memory price rise that lifted chip profit raises the cost of every phone and TV Samsung builds.
What Samsung Said About Q4 2026 and 2027
For Q4, Samsung expects higher sales of HBM, server DRAM and SSDs as AI infrastructure investment grows and new CPU and GPU platforms launch, and double-digit revenue growth in foundry.
On the call, it guided Q4 DRAM bit growth in the mid-to-high teens and NAND bit growth in the mid-teens percentage range.
For 2027, Samsung expects AI infrastructure spending to reach a historic level and AI memory demand to far exceed industry supply.
It said its 2027 HBM supply is already sold out at an agreed target price, that it has signed multi-year supply contracts with 10 major customers and is negotiating with 10 more, and that HBM4E mass production starts in the first half of 2027.
CFO Park Soon-cheol said he expects 2027 to be another record year, led by chips.
Samsung plans about ₩84.4 trillion of capex in 2026, ₩31.7 trillion more than in 2025.
Samsung's ₩30 Trillion Dividend and Buyback Plan
Samsung will pay ₩4,601 per common and preferred share for Q3, or ₩30 trillion in total, including a ₩376 regular dividend.
It estimates total 2026 shareholder returns of ₩90 trillion to ₩110 trillion. About ₩35 trillion is already planned or done, leaving ₩55 trillion to ₩75 trillion, which Samsung expects to use for a substantial buyback and cancellation program along with cash dividends.
The board will set final amounts in late January 2027.
