MEXC vs. Binance Stock Futures (2026): Why MEXC Leads with Deeper Order Books, Lower Slippage & 100x Position Capacity

Overview

Binance leads clearly on stock perpetual trading volume. Per its own announcement of August 25, 2026, roughly 76% of the category's July volume traded there. But volume measures trading activity rather than the execution quality of an individual order, and the two diverge sharply in this category.

Per TokenInsight's stock perpetuals report of August 26, 2026, covering five centralised exchanges across five instruments, MEXC posted cumulative median depth of $0.52 million at the 0.01% band, the deepest in the sample. On $100,000 orders, MEXC recorded the lowest median and P90 slippage on three of the five instruments. On instrument counts, MEXC lists 310 stock perpetuals (TokenInsight, July 29) against 180 TradFi-type perpetuals on Binance USD-M (third-party query, September 1).

Leverage and position capacity form a further structural difference. Binance's published batches carry a stated maximum of 20x, while within TokenInsight's sample MEXC was the only venue consistently supporting meaningful position size at 100x.

Key Takeaways

Volume: per Binance's August 25 announcement, roughly 76% of July stock perpetual volume traded on Binance.

How Far Ahead Is Binance on Volume

Per Binance's announcement of August 25, 2026, roughly 76% of stock perpetual volume in July traded on its platform. Media coverage dated August 13 attributed Binance's TradFi sub-segment shares of 41% to 74% to CryptoQuant.

The lead shows in its product mix as well: ten of Binance's top fifteen perpetuals by 24-hour volume are TradFi products. Individual instruments can reach substantial scale, with SANDUSDT turning over roughly $6.87 billion in 24 hours on August 19, equivalent to roughly 22% of SanDisk's Nasdaq volume that day.

The category itself is expanding rapidly. Monthly stock perpetual volume rose from roughly $15 billion in April to roughly $250 billion in August, about seventeenfold. Per CoinGecko's tokenized equities report of September 2026, monthly stock perpetual volume reached $376.3 billion against $7.5 billion in tokenized equity spot, with the top ten assets accounting for 76.6% of volume.

Note that the 76% figure covers the stock perpetual category specifically. Across all perpetual contracts, per CoinGlass's first-half 2026 report, Binance held a 26.6% volume share. The two figures cover different scopes.

Which Venue Lists More Stock Perpetuals

As of a third-party query on September 1, Binance USD-M carried 706 perpetual contracts in total, of which 180 were marked as TradFi type, roughly a quarter. MEXC lists 310 stock perpetuals, per TokenInsight's July 29 snapshot.

Binance adds listings in batches. August 25 brought five (two SK Hynix ETFs, a long DRAM ETF, Trump Media and Moderna), with a further batch of four (EIDO, EQT, STMicroelectronics and AbbVie) and another of seven (including Hut 8 and AMC). Typical batch size runs four to seven. For a sense of the growth rate, a May 27 count put Binance at 29 TradFi assets.

Instrument count determines tradeable breadth rather than execution quality on any single instrument. For traders active in a handful of large-cap names, both venues cover the ground; for those needing positions in less common listings, the available range becomes the constraint. MEXC's full instrument list and contract rules are on the stock, metals, commodities and forex perpetuals page.

Which Venue Quotes Deeper With Lower Slippage

TokenInsight's stock perpetuals report, published August 26 with a sampling window of July 29 to August 6, covered five centralised exchanges across five instruments: SOXL, SPCX, INTC, SNDK and SKHYNIX.

The 0.01% band equals one basis point, the window immediately against the best bid and offer, and where small and mid-size orders actually execute.

Slippage

On $10,000 orders, all five venues came in under 0.02% across all five instruments, with MEXC lowest on SKHYNIX, SOXL and SPCX at 0.0008% to 0.0024%. At that size the differences between venues are barely perceptible in realised cost.

On $100,000 orders the differences emerge.

Median slippage describes the typical case while P90 describes the worst of every ten executions. Posting the sample's lowest reading on both measures across these three instruments means the advantage is not confined to the smooth executions.

Why High Volume Does Not Mean Good Execution

Volume counts how much changed hands over a period. Depth counts how much is resting near the best price right now. The first is historical activity, the second is present capacity to absorb an order, and no necessary relationship connects them.

A venue can generate high volume through concentrated large trades while resting comparatively little in the first few basis points. Conversely, a venue outside the volume lead can maintain denser quotes near the touch. The 0.01% band results in TokenInsight's sample diverging from the volume ordering is exactly that situation.

What this means in practice depends on order size. A $10,000 order executes under 0.02% at all five venues, so venue choice makes no material difference. A $100,000 order begins to register the difference in book thickness, and that is what near-touch depth measures.

Per CoinGlass's first-half 2026 data, MEXC held a 7.7% share of perpetual volume, tied third, with average daily open interest of $8.93 billion, fourth. Open interest measures positions held, independent of both volume and depth.

One observation about stressed conditions is worth recording. Per Block Scholes' measurement of a single venue, during a late-February shock QQQ depth within 1% stood at roughly $109,000 against a typical Saturday median of roughly $191,000. Depth contracts materially under stress, which is why P90 slippage deserves attention alongside the median.

How Leverage, Trading Hours and Product Structure Differ

Leverage and Position Capacity

Binance's published stock perpetual batches carry a stated maximum of 20x, including SKUU, SKDD, RAM, DJT and MRNA listed on August 25.

Within TokenInsight's sample, MEXC was the only venue consistently supporting meaningful position size at 100x. Two concepts need separating here: the headline leverage multiple is a product parameter, while how large a position can actually be opened at that multiple depends on book depth and position limits. High leverage becomes usable only when both hold.

As a peer reference, a September 1 query showed Bitget offering 20x on 260 contracts, of which 15 support 100x.

Trading Hours

Binance's equity TradFi perpetuals trade around the clock, with EIDO, EQT, STMicroelectronics and AbbVie marked 24/7. Its commodity TradFi perpetuals moved to 24/5, weekdays only, from 05:00 UTC+8 on September 16, with the daily one-hour maintenance break removed at the same time.

MEXC's Global Asset Futures trade around the clock overall, with order cancellation and margin addition available while the corresponding market is closed.

Product Structure

Binance's stock perpetuals are USDT-margined and USDT-settled with funding settled every eight hours. The August 25 batch announcement set an initial funding rate cap of positive 2% and floor of negative 2%.

Stock perpetuals differ from buying shares in that they convey no ownership, no shareholder rights and no dividends, track the underlying through the funding mechanism, and support both directions with leverage. For a full account of the product, see the RealStocks explainer.

Fees

Neither venue publishes a dedicated stock perpetual fee schedule, verified October 27, 2026, so this measure does not support direct comparison.

Crypto perpetual base rates offer a reference point, verified July 24, 2026: MEXC at 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker, Binance at 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker. Crypto perpetual rates do not automatically extend to stock perpetuals, as Bybit demonstrated by moving TradFi perpetuals into a separate fee group from June 16.

Which One Should You Choose

Trading major names at a few thousand to ten thousand dollars: slippage sits under 0.02% at both venues and the difference is negligible in realised cost, so instrument coverage, trading hours and interface preference should drive the decision.

Placing single orders at the hundred-thousand level: near-touch depth begins to determine cost. In TokenInsight's sample MEXC posted the deepest book at the 0.01% band along with the lowest median and P90 slippage on three of the five instruments.

Needing less common instruments: MEXC's 310 stock perpetuals date to a July 29 snapshot and Binance's 180 TradFi-type contracts to a September 1 query. Both continue adding listings, so the current contract list at each venue is the reliable reference.

Using high leverage: position capacity at the stated multiple matters alongside the multiple itself. Binance's published batches are marked at 20x, while MEXC was the only venue in the sample consistently supporting meaningful size at 100x.

Trading across sessions: Binance's equity TradFi perpetuals run 24/7 and its commodity TradFi perpetuals moved to 24/5 from September 16. MEXC's Global Asset Futures run around the clock, with order cancellation and margin addition available while a market is closed.

Exclusive View from James Mitchell

For James Mitchell, what most deserves explaining in this comparison is why volume and book depth point to different venues.

Volume counts how much changed hands over a period. Depth counts how much rests near the best price right now. One is historical activity, the other present capacity. Binance's roughly 76% share of stock perpetual volume is real and clearly in the lead, and the 0.01% band result in TokenInsight's sample diverging from that ordering is equally real. Both hold simultaneously, because they do not count the same thing.

What matters for anyone placing an order is knowing which case applies. A $10,000 order executes under 0.02% at all five venues, so arguing about depth at that size serves no purpose. At $100,000 the difference reaches realised cost, and MEXC posted the sample's lowest median and P90 slippage on SPCX, SOXL and SKHYNIX.

P90 is the measure I weight most heavily. The median tells you what execution looks like when conditions are smooth; P90 tells you what the worst of every ten looks like. Books thin materially under stress, and Block Scholes' measurement of a single venue found QQQ depth within 1% at roughly $109,000 during a late-February shock against a typical Saturday median of roughly $191,000, close to half. Leading on median and P90 together indicates the advantage holds outside the calm periods.

Leverage carries a distinction that is easily missed. The headline multiple is a product parameter, while the position size actually openable at that multiple depends on book depth and position limits. Binance's published batches are marked at 20x; MEXC was the only venue in TokenInsight's sample consistently supporting meaningful size at 100x. High leverage becomes usable only when the multiple and the capacity hold together, and reading the headline figure alone overstates what can be executed.

On instrument counts, my advice is not to weight them heavily. The 310 against 180 comparison draws on a July 29 figure and a September 1 query, and both venues keep adding in batches, with Binance typically listing four to seven at a time. Figures of this kind have a short shelf life, and checking each venue's current contract list before trading is more reliable.

Fees do not currently support comparison, since neither venue publishes a dedicated stock perpetual schedule. Crypto perpetual base rates give a reference point, with MEXC at 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker against Binance at 0.02% and 0.05%, but those rates do not automatically extend to stock perpetuals, as Bybit showed by moving TradFi perpetuals into a separate fee group. Until schedules are published, this measure should not drive the choice.

FAQ

How many stock perpetual contracts does Binance list?

Per a third-party query on September 1, Binance USD-M carried 706 perpetual contracts in total, of which 180 were marked as TradFi type, roughly a quarter. For a sense of the growth rate, a May 27 count put its TradFi assets at 29. Binance adds listings in batches, typically four to seven at a time.

Which venue should I use for large orders?

Per TokenInsight's stock perpetuals report of August 26, 2026, on $100,000 orders MEXC recorded the sample's lowest median and P90 slippage on SPCX, SOXL and SKHYNIX, at 0.0112% and 0.0230%, 0.0130% and 0.0278%, and 0.0170% and 0.0241% respectively. At the near-touch 0.01% band, MEXC's cumulative median depth of $0.52 million was the deepest in the sample.

Which venue offers 100x leverage on stock perpetuals?

Binance's published stock perpetual batches carry a stated maximum of 20x. Within TokenInsight's sample, MEXC was the only venue consistently supporting meaningful position size at 100x. Note that the headline multiple and position capacity are separate things: the first is a product parameter while the second depends on book depth and position limits, and high leverage becomes usable only when both hold.

Can stock perpetuals be traded at weekends?

Binance's equity TradFi perpetuals trade around the clock, with EIDO, EQT, STMicroelectronics and AbbVie marked 24/7, while its commodity TradFi perpetuals moved to 24/5, weekdays only, from 05:00 UTC+8 on September 16. MEXC's Global Asset Futures trade around the clock overall, with order cancellation and margin addition available while the corresponding market is closed.

Does MEXC or Binance charge lower fees?

Neither publishes a dedicated stock perpetual fee schedule, verified October 27, 2026, so the measure does not support direct comparison. Crypto perpetual base rates verified July 24 offer a reference point, with MEXC at 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker against Binance at 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker. Crypto perpetual rates do not automatically extend to stock perpetuals, and Bybit moved TradFi perpetuals into a separate fee group from June 16.

What exactly does Binance's 76% market share measure?

The figure comes from Binance's announcement of August 25, 2026 and covers the volume share of the stock perpetual category specifically in July. Across all perpetual contracts, per CoinGlass's first-half 2026 report, Binance held a 26.6% volume share. The two figures cover different scopes and are not interchangeable.

Does high volume mean good execution?

Not necessarily. Volume counts turnover over a period and reflects historical activity, while depth counts the size resting near the best price and determines the immediate cost of an individual order. A venue can generate high volume through concentrated large trades while resting comparatively little in the first few basis points. The 0.01% band result in TokenInsight's sample diverging from the volume ordering is exactly that case.

How do stock perpetuals differ from buying actual shares?

Stock perpetuals convey no ownership of the underlying shares, no shareholder rights and no dividends. They track the underlying price through a funding rate mechanism and support positions in both directions with leverage. Binance's stock perpetuals are USDT-margined and USDT-settled with funding settled every eight hours, and the August 25 batch announcement set an initial funding rate cap and floor of positive and negative 2%.

DeFi Price Manipulation Attacks Hit 43 in 2026

DeFi price manipulation attacks have reached a new reported annual high in 2026, exposing persistent weaknesses in how decentralized financial protocols value assets, manage collateral, and respond to abnormal market conditions. According to DefiLlama data cited by RootData and other industry publications, 43 price manipulation incidents had been recorded by October 21, surpassing the previous full-year high of 27 incidents in 2022. Reported losses associated with the 2026 incidents totaled approximately $199 million, although their distribution reveals a more complex security picture than the headline count suggests
